HouseGenie SMS Consent Policy
This SMS Consent Policy explains how HouseGenie collects, verifies, and uses phone numbers for text message communications. SMS messages are only sent with explicit consent and may include account-related notifications or FSBO selling tools/resources, depending on the opt-in method.
Consent is collected by replying YES to the initial SMS message.

1. SMS Consent for Account Holders
Users who create a HouseGenie account may optionally provide a phone number during signup or within their account settings.
SMS consent for account holders is collected through a separate, unchecked opt-in checkbox that clearly discloses the nature of the messages to be sent.
Providing SMS consent is not required to create an account or use HouseGenie services.
Depending on user preferences, messages may include:
- Account or security notifications
- Product updates or feature announcements
- FSBO tools, resources, and updates related to selling a home without an agent using HouseGenie
Users may opt out at any time by replying STOP or by updating their account preferences.

2. SMS Consent for FSBO & Outreach Communications
HouseGenie may send an initial SMS message to prospective For-Sale-By-Owner (FSBO) sellers solely to request permission to communicate via text message.
Phone numbers for outreach communications are obtained from publicly available FSBO listings or direct inquiries.
The initial message requests the recipient to reply YES to opt in or STOP to opt out.
No marketing or promotional SMS messages are sent unless the recipient explicitly replies YES. After opting in, messages may include FSBO tools, resources, and updates related to selling a home without an agent using HouseGenie.
